Meet Madison Avenue!
Madison Avenue is a 1992 registered Thoroughbred gelding. He has been donated to ILPH-MI by Carrie Hatfield and the Hatfield Family. Although Madison has never been abused or neglected, he has been retired from active competition for Medical reasons, and is being donated to help promote the protection and welfare of horses. Carrie and Madison competed successfully up through preliminary level Three day eventing until medical issues limited Madison's ability to jump. Carrie hopes that the donation of Madison to ILPH-MI will show people that even horses with medical conditions that limit activities can still be enjoyed and live full happy lives.
Update - Madison has made several public showings and has been a huge hit, with everyone. He has been to the Grand Opening of TSC in Williamston and Community Day at Celebration Cinema. But his two big events were the press conference at the State Capitol and the ILPH-MI Derby Day - Run for the Rescue. He has really enjoyed making a lot of new friends and eating a lot of carrots.
On his medical issues - Madison has been pain free since the end of May; he is walking much better and enjoys spending time in his pasture with his friend Tonka. Both of them love swimming in their pond. He is on several supplements, but is no longer on any medication.
