There are five ways to help ILPH-MI
Donate, Participate, Educate, Facilitate, and Accommodate!

DONATE

Donate Money - The first thing to often come to mind, is donations of money. This is the cornerstone of most charitable organization's funding. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, all monetary donations are tax deductible. We appreciate any amount, no matter how large or small. Remember that all funds raised go DIRECTLY to caring for and rehabilitating the horses of ILPH-MI. Donations can be made through PayPal by clicking on the 'Donate Now' button to the left, or funds may be made payable to ILPH-MI and mailed to ILPH-MI PO Box 291 Dansville MI 48819.

Donate Time - Volunteers make the world go 'round! Or, at least they make ILPH-MI go 'round. We are completely comprised of volunteers, no member of the board of directors is compensated for their time. We can always use a hand with the horses. Volunteers can spend time feeding, grooming, lunging, and just spending time with the ILPH-MI horses. Volunteers are always appreciated at the various ILPH-MI fundraising events throughout the year. Opportunities include: scribing at dressage shows, helping in the office at open shows, judging on trail rides, sitting at the ILPH-MI booth at expos and events, even helping with mailings! So you see, horse experience is not necessary. we appreciate any offer of time.

Donate Feed - Often, the horses that ILPH-MI takes in are in need of extra groceries. The diet of an undernourished equine can be quite costly. Horse's with medical issues may require special supplements to return to complete health. Older horses may need daily supplements to remain comfy. Good quality hay is always in demand at ILPH-MI. First cutting grass hay to second cutting alfalfa - we can use it all for the varying needs of each individual ILPH-MI horse. The donation of any amount of hay is GREATLY welcome. No amount is too small. ILPH-MI purchases all of its grain through Mason Elevator Company, and we have set up a great system with them. If you would like to donate grain, please call Mason Elevator and purchase a gift card for ILPH-MI. Mason Elevator will put the gift card in our file, and this will be used to purchase grain. All donations of feed are tax deductible.

Donate Items - Leg Wraps, Bell Boots, Lunge Lines, Long Lines, Side Reins, Surcingles, Cotton Lead Ropes, Halters, Horseshoer’s Secret (Farnam), Hooflex (Absorbine), Thrush Buster, First Aid Kit, Veterinary Liniment Gel (Absorbine), Vetrap, Thermometer, Hoof Dressing (Fiebings or Absorbine), Brushes, Hoof Picks, Clippers, Buckets, Feed Pans, Bridles, Bits, Blankets of varying sizes and weights, Flymasks, Flysheets, Flyspray, Sunscreen...Anything you can think of that you might use on a horse!

PARTICIPATE

Shows - Participating in our shows helps raise money and awareness. The slogan for our shows is "Horse Shows to Help Horses. We have two open shows and 5, yes five, dressage shows in 2007. Showing is not only fun but is one way we raise money for equine welfare. We have shows this year at the Ingham County Fairgrounds, Copper Creek and Double Bar H Equestrian Center in Laingsburg.

Tack Auctions - Attending our Tack Auctions is fun and you never know what kind of deals you may get. Running W Tack brings a wide selection of Tack, Grooming Items, Barn needs and some tools. Our Christmas tack sale will also have some cool Christmas gifts and decorations. The Auction will be the last Saturday in April and October at the Dansville Village Hall, 1360 Mason Street, Dansville, MI 48819. Starting at 7pm

EDUCATE

Tell your friends - Telling your friends about the ILPH-MI not only helps us, but it also helps horses in need. If you know someone who wants to show, needs tack, or needs help with their horses, let them know about us. A horse will thank you.

FACILITATE

Help us build the facility - We will be holding a barn building party, just like the old days and we will need a lot of help to raise this new barn. Stay tuned for more info on this later.

Help with the horses - We can always use help with the horses, maybe you have the patience to make a horse more human friendly, maybe you like to groom, maybe you like to exercise the horses. These are all thing. s we need help with, and the horses love visitors who bring treats.

ACCOMMODATE

Take a horse on Loan - Take a horse on loan, very similar to a lease, except there is no charge and you keep the horse as long as you can use them. It is our hope to find life long homes for the horses, but we know situations change and they need to come back. Check out our application, download, fill out and print.
